BIG news

so i've been incredibly busy lately, but GOOD NEWS! i am now beginning my career, thank goodness. haha. i'm the new illustrator and graphic designer for atlanta girl magazine! i love it! it's so exciting and i'm so lucky and proud to be working for/with something with such a great purpose. but anyways! enough bragging.

the beginnings of a painting, i'm thinking pastel yellows, pinks, and browns. i had to darken the photograph a lot so you could see the drawing.

look at that adorable baby boy! i love him. he checks out his mommy's work all the time. =]

i have been super busy, but im not sure what/if i should post anything ive been working on for the magazine, i'd rather not just yet. keep you waiting! maybe it will entice you to purchase the magazine when it comes out?!

be on the lookout for great things soon from yours truly, i've got a few tricks up my sleeves for the next month or so. (maybe an art show? maybe a banner on a website? stay tuned!)

the ultimate junk store

so it's been a little while, i know. i am finally done with school for this quarter, thank goodness. (now i get to focus on moving out) my grades you ask? all A's and one B+, which is kind of torture getting so close to that A haha.

spent a few celebratory days in alabama this week. we ventured all the way out to J&J's Junk Store, which if you haven't been, you need to go. it's pretty amazing. they have so much stuff. &i've always heard stories about it, and about how these little old ladies run it and all they do is sit there and eat and watch soap operas, and SURE ENOUGH they were! it was every bit of what i expected it to be.

this is where your remote control goes once the couch eats it.

my loot includes: 4 watches that are to be disassembled and turned into wonderful art, 2 Le Pens in their original packaging (i could not resist, how silly), 1 monogramed pin that looks identical to old anthro monograms (i think its the letter F), 1 pair of big flower clip on earrings that will also be turned into some wonderful art one of these days, & finally, a little quirky stitched creation of a bee and some strawberries that will eventually be put in one of my many fun frames, that are all currently boxed up at the moms house.

we also took the little one swimming in a salt water pool. he pretty much hated it. but it was SO cute.

almost late for class..

Just wanted to take a minute to reflect on the little wonders in my life:

Meet Madigan. While just about everyone I grew up with now have babies, I have this little fuzzy joy. He's my son and the love of my life.

Little Facts About This Baby:
- His name is from a series of Sci-fi novels, "The Looking Glass Wars".
- Names that were considered include Wedge and Dodge (also from the books, not the car)
- He is not a morning person.
 - He is the biggest momma's boy around.

This is Roscoe. He sure does like to pose for the camera.

-We've had him since I was in third grade
- Daily activities include: sitting, cleaning, posing, meowing.
- Tends to talk in "eh eh"s
- Lives with the mom
